Toad in a hole here is sausage inside Yorkshire pudding. So I'll vote egg in a blanket.

    What is yorkshire pudding??

    This.

I don't have a name for the pictured dish... I'd ask for egg in bread..

It's a little puffy savoury pastry usually served with roast dinner. You make a batter (pancake consistency), heat oil super hot in muffin trays in the oven, pour the batter in and cook.

Toad in a hole is a big dish of Yorkshire pudding with sausages baked in to it.

Put bacon and more cheese in that and I'd call it a glory hole.

Also, how do they know how big to make the hole, what if the egg requires more space? Do they fry it with it in the bread hole?

Yes, you fry it in the bread hole.
