BestVal Chicken Calories!

Okay, I buy the BestVal chicken thighs and legs.
I eat a ton of chicken. At least 4 times a week

My issue is figuring out the calories! Its 60 calories an ounce.

Do I weight it ON bone or take it off?!?

Ive been taking it off bone and weighing JUST THE eatable part.

Does anyone know if thats the correct way to weigh it?

Ive tried looking it up and found nothing :(

I just need to make sure Im not doing it wrong.

I use a lot of that type of chicken too. Precook it, pick it off the bone, toss the skin and use it all week. There is an entry in the food database of chicken dark meat only stewed...so yeah measure it cooked as you dish it out. That's the one I use.

Well I just put it on a cookie sheet and cook it for 50 minutes.

    I keep the skin on.

I usually pick it off the bone, than weigh it that way.

Im just wondering if the calories on the package (4 oz = 240 calories) means ON BONE or OFF BONE?

I would say off the bone because when I looked up the calories for dark meat, the amount for meat off the bone was comparable to what you've listed.

This is the site I used: http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-chicken-dark-meat-only-i5046

So, would it most likely mean off the bone for legs as well?

I love HOT WINGS and was thinking about making my own, but ONE leg (With bone) weighs in at 4.5 ounces which is over 250 calories for just ONE :O
