Hi everyone! Even though I've technically had MFP for like 5 years, it's been a very off and on journey (same with fitness/weight Loss in general.. all over the place!) I'm sick of having to try to get back on the wagon every few months and would love some help/advice on making a plan that works and sticking to it for exercise/eating. I can't afford a gym right now but at home workouts have been depressing haha, and I don't know exactly what to do to kickstart a change in my diet since I've tried so many different things. I guess I also just need some help with accountability! Anyway, I'm 27 and based in the D.C. area, any friends/advice/whatever would be welcome:) thanks so much!

Hi there the best advise I can give you is never try and diet instead think of something that you eat often that’s bad for you ie coke cake sweets etc and just remove it for four weeks doing that with different things ever four week will make you think more about what your eating good luck1

Hi, and welcome, for real!
If you want a diet/exercise plan you can stick to, you have to stop thinking about kickstarts. When you set off like a rocket, you crash. If you can't see yourself sticking happily to the plan forever, don't even bother. Aim to not be all over the place, tell yourself that there is no wagon. Don't try to play the system. Weight loss is simple, but you have to do it right, and be patient and disciplined. You are only accountable to yourself. Set up your account with your stats, pick your weekly weight loss goal to any amount as long as it is below 1% of your body weight (1% is attainable only if you're obese, and if you set the optimal calorie deficit, and if you log correctly, and if you hit your calorie target consistently). This isn't much per week, but every month you can stick to a moderate deficit, beats any month of one week in an extreme deficit and three weeks of binging.0 -
Similar story to you. I’ve been on MyFitnessPal for five or six years. I successfully lost around that time. Since then have tried and failed repeatedly. Determined this time! Friend me and let’s try to keep each other motivated.0
