Waking up and feeling hungry

I drank a bunch of tea before bed the other night, had to wake up and per. Then I had a hard time falling back asleep because I started feeling hungry. This has also happened when I wake up to use the bathroom and decide to take my thyroid meds then but the glass of water seems to make me feel hungry.
Anyone have suggestions or had this happen to them? I don't really want to eat something and sleep with unbrushed teeth nor do I want to brush my teeth at 3am.

If hunger itself isn't waking you up during the night, then I'd try not drinking so much right before bed. It sounds like you're waking up to pee, and then your body notices that it's awake and hungry.
If that doesn't work, then I'd save calories for a bedtime snack so you don't get hungry in the middle of the night.5 -
What time do you have to take your meds?
How much water are you drinking? Maybe you do not need so much.
Consider stopping the liquids earlier so that they do not interfere with your sleep.1 -
Well right when you said tea, I immediately thought of caffeine. Your ingesting caffeine and I think it's messing with your insides. Try to just do water after a certain time period to avoid waking your metabolism. I eat ice if I'm cravin a snack before bed. Sad but true.5

I use brushing teeth as a cutoff for drinking. I need undisturbed sleep.0

That is sad.
I just have a snack before bed.5 -
Ugh I just wrote a nice response and it got deleted. So I'll just say thanks. I'll try a snack before bed and a cut off time for beverages. I also don't drink caffeine but rarely and it wasn't caffeinated the other night.0

Probably not helpful but tea always makes me hungry.0

Yep, stop drinking earlier and definitely pee before you go to bed. Time taking your meds before you go to bed. You can get in the habit of swallowing those pills after you brush your teeth. I usually have a half container of yogurt or an ounce of cheese and crackers or an apple before bedtime. I don't wake up feeling hungry in the middle of the night.0

Decaf tea still has trace amounts of caffeine. If you are sensitive to caffeine, its possible to be wired from decaf.0

My thyroid pill makes me feel alert. Maybe wait on that until morning? I also don’t drink tea after noon. It has theobromine. At night I get up a couple of times. I drink a sip or two of water and go back to bed.0
