I'm a mom of two who has been fighting PCOS for over a decade. Insulin resistance makes gaining weight easy and losing weight hideously hard. I have been lucky because each time I've gotten my PCOS under control, I have been able to conceive and I have two beautiful children. Unfortunately, that means each time I've started getting my weight down, I've then gone directly into a pregnancy. I'm hoping that, since I'm done having kids, I can now get my PCOS under control and keep the weight gone.

I just started a directed optifast plan today. If you haven't heard of it, this is a low calorie liquid diet that is directed by a physician. This particular version has me adding vegetables and fruit to the diet. It isn't easy, but I know that I can do this and that it will help me to lose enough to make it easier to increase my activity.

I am making short term and long term goals and I will do this.
