Starting again and again

I signed up for a gym membership yesterday- Like the 7th time in my adult life- and the modelesque employee was like “What are your fitness goals?!” and I said, “Can I just sign up and not talk about my goals??” and she told me I should have signed up online and was totally rude after that. Sorry young lady! Some things in life get exhausting.

So I went for a 25 minute stroll on a treadmill this morning, and cooked some spinach with my eggs and toast this morning. I’ve decided to go easy on myself this time, and count any gym trip or food thing as good enough, instead of “next time I need to run more and lift weights and eat zero carbs and...” pressure.

It's good to have goals setup, on your fridge, on some paper, on a white board etc. This is probably why you are starting, again and again. Sit down for an hour and figure out why you are doing this. Write down a short term, mid term, long term and ultimate goal for you to get to.

Don’t feel bad! I am taking the same approach as you. Sometimes I try to be too much of a perfectionist and when I mess up it makes me want to quit! Don’t be to hard on yourself and try to make it fun. I love to hike so that is what I have been doing more of. Where I live there is a trail running series that starts easy and gets harder throughout the year. So instead of focusing on me, I am focusing on doing something fun that will help me! Good luck! You can do it! If it makes you feel better, I have started over a lot too!
