Trying to be healthy again

Hi all! I've had a myfitnesspal account for years but I'm back and trying to actually stick with a healthy lifestyle. I'm 24 years old, 5' 6" and 190 lbs. I gained weight in college and have had trouble losing it since. In the past I've tried limiting calories to 1200 cal/day and was back to not counting calories within the month. This time around I'm starting slow and just recording my calorie intake for January and aiming to eat 1700 cal/day. Also working on eating healthy foods but not cutting out any types of food completely. Right now what I eat is a mixture of absolute junk and healthy vegetables and whole grains etc. but I'm trying to not binge eat sweets anymore (definitely my weakness). For exercise I'm shooting for 10,000 steps daily and 2-3 days of weightlifting weekly. I go to kickboxing and boxing classes a few times a month too which I've been having a blast doing. Aiming to weigh 160 lbs by 2019 by being consistent and losing 0.5-1 lbs a week. The first 2 weeks of January have been pretty good!
Anyways I'm looking to meet some other people on here to share tips, motivation, recipes, workouts, and success with.

Hello! Literally never posted on a forum before! I have a similar story - been doing MFP on and off for years but trying to get back into it. I'm 23, 180cm and weigh around 93kg. I'm working in an office so pretty sedentry, but am trying to bike to and from work, which is about 5.2km each way. I'm also pretty interested in yoga, so will try and go to a few classes through out the week. Ready and willing to hear any and all advice0

I hope you enjoy the yoga! I was thinking about trying a yoga class my local community center. I'm definitely finding I have the most success keeping active if I do group fitness classes.0
