Getting Restarted

I'm not new to MyFitnessPal, I've been using it on and off since 2011. However, I'd never updated my starting weight of 17st 2lb since then, it was good to see that I'd lost a stone in weight after all.
It was only this morning that I realised that it was a lie. I'd lost it but I'd also put it on and taken it off several times. So I set my starting weight to what it was this morning, which was 16 st 2lb.
To me this has two benefits, the first is that when my weight hits around 16 st 5lb I snore more and suffer from sleep apnea, so setting a ceiling below that will help me get a better night's sleep. The second is more psychological. In my mind, I hope to draw a line under that stone of weight loss and lose the next one, after which I will reset again.
In the past, I wanted to see the big weight loss number displayed on my dashboard when achieved my target weight. I think this was a mistake and I think I will even try setting a target weight to just a stone less than I am and then update when I hit that.

It is hard to let go of old losses.
I lost 32 pounds, quit smoking (great) put back on 28 pounds (bad). It broke my heart to re-set my weight and lose the 32 pound loss stated on my ticker but I decided honesty is the best policy.
I am starting over so I need to be honest with myself as well as others who might look at my stats.
Good luck with your progress and goals1 -
