I recently bought Herballife shake, protein powder, and then concentrated tea with liftoff tablets and aloe. I need to make this routine work for me. I need to shed some pounds before my heart and knees really go out..

Put it in the garbage. It is garbage. If you want to lose weight, you have to eat less. Eat what you want, but less. Everybody can make that into a routine that works.20

The best way to use Herbalife is a way of deciding who to unfriend. If they try to sell it to you or recruit you into their cult, dump them.20

Isn't Herbalife the product that caused kidney failure?7

The best way to use Herbalife:
1) Open garbage can.
2) Insert any and all Herbalife products in said garbage can.
3) Close lid.
4) Use MFP to set an appropriate calorie goal for yourself.
5) Eat a reasonable, balanced diet comprised of foods you enjoy and stick to said calorie goal.
6) Trust the process and have patience.18 -
Sell it to someone dumb enough to buy it7

Man, I love this forum
OP, all of this. Listen to these guys. If you want to lose weight for your heart and knees (well any reasons really) you need a calorie deficit and that is all. And if you want it to be sustainable, make changes that you personally can do long term to maintain your weight loss. Don't look for quick fixes, they will only distract you from your goal.4 -
OP, sorry that you purchased Herbalife before asking about it on the forums. There is actually an entire documentary on Netflix called "Betting on Zero" that documents how Herbalife is a scam. There is no magic pill (or shake) for weight loss. If there were, then none of us would be overweight. You'll lose weight when you are in a consistent caloric deficit. How you get and maintain your calorie deficit is up to you. For many of us, the easiest way to is practice moderation and be accurate and consistent about logging here on MFP.
Also remember, even if all these shakes and pills actually cause weight loss (which they don't but assume for a second that they do), once you stop taking them you'll simply go back to being overweight if you don't change the way you are eating long-term. Would you really want to spend your whole life yo-yoing between a healthy weight and overweight? Or would you rather slowly get to your healthy weight and stay there?6 -

This is pretty much what I came in here to say.
But I see @AnvilHead clearly covered it for me. Most excellent.

Sometimes I wonder if people posting for Herbalife friends and asking who has used it, aren't really looking for people interested in buying it. A weightloss forum would be a good place to go fishing. Not saying that the OP is doing it, but it always enters my mind when people ask about these products.5

Well played, people, well played.
@KowgirlKW: Listen to everything said above. Herbashite will not help you, nor your bank balance.2 -
What at @AnvilHead said, then read the threads in this forum from all of the people who lost weight just by eating less:

and this on how to get started on that path yourself:

Well I love my Herbalife shakes. I do not sell Herbalife. I eat a shake for breakfast because I will never wake up early enough to make breakfast and it keeps me full so I’m not starving by lunch. I will usually have my other shake around 3pm and that helps me to not over eat at dinner. There is not magic shake that will make you loose weight if your still eating to many calories. I track my calories on mfp and have started an exercise plan. I’ve done well using Herbalife as a tool to help me reach my goals12

I'd be afraid to take any of that. Is it too late to get a refund?0

Glad I stumbled across this. I follow a lot of "fitness fanatics" on Instagram, and quite a few of them swear upon Herbalife. It drives me a little crazy...1

by throwing it in the garbage2

Stuff it all into a tear resistant trash bag, use the filled bag to beat the person who ripped you off.
Note: this is humor, not a serious suggestion.1
