I have attempted to lose weight before, this time I am determined to make it happen. I have 3 kiddos who are teens and I want to be able to keep up with them. I am right under 40 years old and I have about 45lbs to lose. I am on a 1200 calorie diet. I am trying to find ways to cook, not only to get some variety, but also I am not trying to spend a fortune on food. Any tips/recipes/ideas would be much appreciated. As well as some workout tips. It has been a long time since I have been in the gym and I feel a little overwhelmed when I go in there. I find myself sticking to the same machines and routine.

Welcome,
I think these two links are extremely helpful and can help you get the most out of MFP:
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1
The first covers accurate logging and some of the tools in MFP to help you make things easier. The second discusses caloric needs and setting goals. These two posts completely changed my MFP experience and helped me be much more successful, so I hope they do the same for you.
~Best wishes on your journey
