Do you have any activities you can do to distract yourself? I saw in another thread you mentioned drawing. Anxiety can be rough to manage, but if you find a few coping mechanisms (drawing, walking around, knitting) it can be a good distraction to help you feel a little less anxious and panicked.

My size 12 shorts from the 80s are the same size as my 6/8s now. That said, my body shape is vastly different as all the sand in my hourglass went to my middle, so the shorts don't fit me quite the same. (Too tight in tum, loose in bum)

@Pkov123 I guess I am an inverted wedge now, which is like a ruler, but with somewhat wider shoulders than hips.

Sizing is such a subjective thing. Every brand of clothing seems to use a different sizing system. Right now, I don't care what the size says, I just want to be able to go into any store I want and find something that will fit me and look good. I want to stop buying plus sized clothing.

I'm at 230 and wear a 2x in sweats. I've got a big booty so who knows what size jeans I would wear.

Hadn't heard about "vanity sizing", but I do know sizes are very inconsistent, varying between different countries of manufacture, and even between different brands in the same country. It needs to be standardized with international guidelines.

I'm really interested to see what size I will be when I get to my goal weight. My goal is 130 and the last time I was 130 I was 18 years old and a size 11/12 (I'm 5'1"). Fast forward to age 35, 2 kids later, and 200 pounds overweight... 130 probably won't be a size 11/12 anymore. Especially because I will have excess skin.

I have a cat who just started peeing on the carpet after I've had him for 15 years. Ugh. I would be really happy to send him to you right about now.

Thirty years ago, when I was a college freshman, I was about the same weight I am now. I wore a size 5 at the Gap. At this moment, I am wearing Gap pants that are a size 00...a size that didn't even exist back in the day.

There used to be a store called 5/7/9, which called itself the "small size specialist"...because decades ago, those were the smallest sizes.

Much has been said about how Marilyn Monroe was a size 12 or 14...but, in today's clothes, she would probably wear a 4 or 6.

Yes I know I always wanted to go to 5/7/9 haha I was probably too young tho anyway, yes miss Marilyn would be a size 00 waist and 2 hips. :)

Thanks! I'm not too worried about what size I will actually be, just curious. The reason I think I might be a larger size at the same weight I once was is because my body composition has changed after having kids. I will also have some loose skin and I think it will make my pants size bigger. I could be wrong, and really it doesn't matter as long as I am healthy and active.
