We all do it at one point in our lives. Over eat. Today I had to tell myself no a lot and I felt like I was punishing myself. It's been years since I watched what I ate. Today I started tracking and it is hard. Trying to find out why I over eat. Stress, work, life, money, loneliness, or comfort yup I think I got it covered. Today my journey begins.

Welcome to MFP! To be successful with weight management, you will have to work on your eating habits, your mindset and your food environment. You can eat too much occasionally without any ill effect, but you can't consistently overeat and be of good health. Telling yourself no when you have had what you need, isn't punishment, it's self care. Telling yourself yes sometimes, even if it's something you don't really need, but just want, is also self-care. Understanding that there is a big difference between sometimes and almost always, between discipline and punishment, between kindness and carelessness, is a big achievement.

Work to find yeses. Figure out and focus on what you can do rather than what you can't.

Actual hungry? Eat a lot of non-starchy veggies with your main meal to get that full feeling. Head hungry? Fix some hot tea to keep your hands and mouth busy.

You won't be perfect. Don't expect yourself to be. Just hop back on the wagon and keep moving forward.

It may take months of practice and experimentation but, if you persevere, you can create a lower calorie way of eating with foods you like.

Think of all the yummy things you can say yes to! Of all the adventures you can get into when you say yes to a walk. Of how good youll feel going to bed knowing you did good. You said yes to health and weight loss and a step forward. No is so negative, Your doing good why focus on the negative making it hard in self?

Edit: @seska422 haha you beat me to it i was making a smoothie before gettign around to answering XD haha
