locker room and pools of water

Gym people: The lady who has a locker a couple away from mine swims in the morning the same time I work out and always leaves huge pools of water on the floor around our lockers. This is very annoying for many reasons - lockers are small and it's hard to get changed without having some of your things outside the locker and lockers are small and things often fall out of them unintentionally onto the floor, so I am always having things get wet (with the wet that has dripped off another person's body) I don't want to get wet, despite all efforts to avoid it. Is this normal? Is it just normal that people leave pools of water in the locker and it's annoying? Or is it normal that swimmers do, and I happen to be unlucky to have a locker next to someone who swims the same time I work out? Or is she a rude, sloppy person, and should I change lockers? I don't know because this is my first experience belonging to a gym. Thanks for your help.

I think it's rude and irresponsible of her to leave puddles of water on the floor. She should clean it up with a towel. If you don't feel comfortable asking her to clean up, I'd take it up with the staff. It's a safety concern; someone could slip and fall and the gym would be liable.

It's pretty inconsiderate and a safety hazard (she doesn't dry herself after her shower?)

I swim regularly and manage not to leave excessive amounts of water on the floor.......as mentioned earlier, if you're not comfortable speaking with the individual involved talk to the staff (and by all means...move lockers)

I'm with you one this one. Drives me crazy. When I swim I always put my towel on the floor for this reason and general hygiene reasons. I wash my towels after each work out so having them been on the floor is not an issue. Besides, its winter and its impossible to put tights or leggings over wet feet! I agree with Brian...if you're up to it, say something, otherwise ask the gym to put up a polite sign asking people not to leave water on the floor. It is, indeed, a health & safety issue.

She's rude but lately I've found that behavior to be more of the rule than the exception lately. :disappointed:

Some people are rude and do this. My gym has a sign directing people to dry off before leaving the shower area and going into the locker area. Some people think it doesn't apply to them, or just don't think at all.
I carry an old terry bathmat in my gym bag and put it on the floor in front of my locker. This solves most of the wet problem, is warmer than standing on the floor, and is cleaner.
