NSV - Anxiety

So I got back into exercise and eating healthy with great gusto. I've been at it solidly for a week and a bit (missing some days of exercise, but generally being able to eat a lot better consistently).
One thing I have noticed is that my night time anxiety has completely gone!

I usually have a major anxiety attack 3-4 times a week, meaning barely any sleep and getting sick a lot. This has been going on since I had a few personal tragedies occur over the year.
It only just struck me today that I have gone an entire stressful week (money issues, study issues, family issues) without even the slightest hint of panic or anxiety, and it has all coincided with me making the commitment to really try to exercise every day.

To me, this is HUGE! It also saves on me paying for therapy, which my GP said I may have to go for if exercise didn't work. Thank goodness it did!

Thought I'd share :) yay!

That is a wonderful plus to exercise. Our daughter has a lot of anxiety problems and panic attacks. I got her into exercising now and she hasn't had any problems with it in months. She even sleeps better at night too. Poor thing would be up till 4am unable to sleep. Now she is in bed and asleep by 11. She walks around town on our walking paths and rides my bike. If the weather is bad and she can't get out she uses my stationary bike. She says its really helped her. She even has more energy and feels more alert at work.

She got into exercising just to take off a couple of pounds but now she feels so much better over all that she's going to stick with it for her mental health.

I hope you continue to have relief from your anxiety.

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear your daughter is getting such great results as well! :) I was very much the same! Couldn't calm down til 4-5am then had to be up by 7 to go to class. Exhausting! I'm going into the diploma now, and I feel like I am in so much more control. It's amazing what exercise does, other than just what happens on the outside.

It's just amazing! I'm sure I'll always suffer from the effects of anxiety but like you, I haven't thought about it at all. Usually I start a day where I feel off and it just snowballs til night time.
It's like the world opened up and I have so much I can achieve! :D

WTG! Thanks for the reminder! Haven't exercised in weeks and I'm getting anxious up the wazoo! Lots of work issues. I think I need to go for a run! :)

I forgot what just a simple run or moving around can do!

Ha no problem :) now I've cottoned onto the link, hopefully this means it'll be harder for me to quit. Fingers crossed!
I hear ya about the work issues. Usually i'd be grinding my teeth rotten, but I'm cool as a cucumber! It's a nice change :D

Oh this is actually really exciting and motivating for me! I have terrible anxiety... If exercise will help; well damn, I'm gonna do it every day!
