Anybody try this simulator?? Wondering what others think of it. I think it's scientifically fairly accurate, but when you're talking about real-life, IDK...

By John Berardi, Ph.D.

"Based on data collected at the NIDDK (National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases) and the NIH (National Institutes of Health), this weight loss calculator factors in how your metabolism really works to predict how long it’ll take to reach a particular weight loss goal.

This excellent weight loss calculator takes into account the adaptive nature of metabolism and gives more accurate information on how hard you’ll have to work (and how long it may take) to reach your goals."

All of these calculators simply give you a reasonably good estimation to get started...once you're going, you just make adjustments per your actual results.

In real life, consistency tends to loom larger in prediction accuracy than do formulas and calculations.

Even when logging as meticulously and accurately as we possibly can, there are unavoidable variations in things like daily activities, and those can add up over time, hindering long term predictions' accuracy.

Also, most of us, over a period of weeks to months, choose some deviations from a precision regimen (like holidays, vacations) and have unpredictable things that affect our calorie balance (minor illness limiting activity/exercise, or eating for example).

If you log carefully and consistently, you'll soon develop a pretty good understanding of your own body's behavior. That will help you to abllllpredict effects of changes in routine.
