One of the amazing things that happened at the time I discovered MFP, was that I also discovered that I don't have to eat any special foods to lose or maintain weight, all I have to do is stick to an appropriate calorie intake. I can eat anything in moderation, no foods are in themselves healthy or unhealthy, aiding in weightloss or fattening. It was actually trying to "eat right" that made me struggle with my weight; learning that I can truly eat whatever I want, has made not just maintaining a healthy weight a breeze, it also makes me make better food decisions overall.
Whenever I see "low calorie and filling" now, I cringe. Healthy weightloss is not so low calorie that you need special food or any gimmicks. A healthy diet is varied and balanced. A weightloss diet is worthless if it makes you binge later. Your diet is just what you eat, so it has to fit your perferences.9 -
thanks for that now i know more1

Well I don't know about favourite but I have developed a deep and meaningful love for brussell sprouts. Can eat a tonne of them for very few calories and get loads of vitamins.3

All food is diet food when eaten in moderation and with a caloric deficit.

They stink something awful when roasted, though!1 -
Diet Dr Pepper. As far as food goes I don’t typically buy “diet” or “light” anything.3

I don't eat "diet" food.... I just eat food, so I'd have to say chocolate covered pecans1

How do you fix what? The Brussels sprouts smell? You can't, not really. You just learn to accept it if you like the food enough. You don't have to force yourself to eat anything you don't like.

so no matter how you cook them they smell bad?0

I'm not actually sure if we're allowed to post links to outside web sites, but it's just some recipes.

Google it for more ideas. Sounds like if you cook them for 5 minutes or less (blanching them), they won't smell.
You can eat them raw.
You can toss them in things that smell MORE like bacon.1 -
Seafood!!! Shrimp, lobster, crab, swordfish, orange roughy, flounder, scallops - I love it all!!!! I love coming up with new ways to prepare each and I love that they're LOADED with protein!
Oh, and edamame! Can eat the *kitten* out of some edamame.0 -
i cant eat fish it grosses me out but i like crab and shrimp0

Or you might find that you don't think that whatever they smell like is a bad smell. I roast Brussels in olive oil and a variety of spices pretty regularly, and I don't find that they stink...I think the house smells like dinner. I also haven't gotten complaints eating leftovers at work. Your (nose) mileage may vary.
I actually really hate the smell of roasting broccoli, but I think it tastes great when it's done (unlike steamed broccoli, which makes me vom). *shrug* Humans, we're weird.1
