Elliptical: High Resistance, Low Mileage or Low Resistance, High Mileage?

I've been looking in a lot of places to figure out what's best for burning calories. I already have my diet set with CICO so no issues there.

Basically, my current routine is going on my elliptical and putting the resistance at level 20, and work out for 2 hours. I get 8000+ steps, and I finish with 2.2-2.4 miles. At the end of my workout, it shows I burned 2300 calories.

I've tried doing level 1 resistance after about 2 months of doing level 20 resistance, and I feel like I fly with how fast I could go. But I haven't done 2 hours of pure level 1 resistance. I only do a minute or so.

Should I try a low resistance, but inevitably a higher mileage approach to the Elliptical for 2 hours? Or should I stay with my high resistance, but hilariously low mileage approach? I'm trying to burn off more calories.

And side note: I'm pretty certain that 2300 calories burned off with that low mileage is probably incorrect.
