I’m looking for a kick as$ sport to join that is exciting, fun and different and offers a challenge... I was thinking along the lines of kickboxing or jitzsu??

Any ideas of sports that I may not be thinking of? Thank you!

    Parkour!

    What is that?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour
Parkour (French pronunciation: [paʁkuʁ]) is a training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training.[4][5][6] Practitioners aim to get from one point to another in a complex environment, without assistive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible. Parkour includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling, quadrupedal movement, and other movements as deemed most suitable for the situation.[7][8] Parkour's development from military training gives it some aspects of a non-combative martial art.

We have a few parkour parks here, but a lot of people also do it outside "freestyle"...

If you've seen the opening scene of Casino Royale, that's parkour (the bad guy, at least - Craig is mostly just smashing *kitten*). There are a few parkour gyms around the US - there's one a few miles from me in the Midwest 'burbs. I've totally wanted to go take some classes but haven't made the time yet.

Omg! So cool. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this in US.

I'm in the US...we have three indoor parkour parks/gyms...but like I said, you often see people "free styling" downtown or whatever.

+1 Did a Spartan Trifecta and that was quite an experience. Don't think I'll do a beast again but the Sprint and Super are good.

For a really good time go to YouTube and search parkour fails. Laugh, wince, cringe and then pick something a little less risky. Especially if your responsible for feeding yourself.

LOL yep, seen those and did that. I don't do parkour, I was there for a biceps reattachment from an accident involving a chin up bar, a poorly timed jump, a slip of the left hand, and I can neither confirm nor deny if alcohol was involved prior to the afore mentioned incident but it certainly was after! :grimace:

I'd think that parkour and alcohol is a particularly poor pairing. It takes "Hold my beer and watch this!" to a whole new level. :D

    As to the OP:

    - Any martial art which involves sparring
    - Mountain bike riding/racing
    - Ice hockey/inline hockey
    - BMX
    - Triathlon

Lol, yeah this was just training but I'm sure there are those HMB moments in parkour, or maybe those who think they are going to do it.
