I am 40 days into this, the first month was amazing, down 14 .lbs with immediate success showing everyday. Past few days I have stalled and started about a 1.lb fluctuation (weighed at the same time of day). I have been on a 1220 deficit and attempt to eat back my burned calories with healthy intake. Looking at my diary some cardio and gym days can hit 1800-1900 intake range due to what I am putting out.
My Theory:
I went cold turkey on soda of any type at the start and have slowly backed off coffee. Missing caffeine use to give me major headaches but I have been doing great. About 2 weeks ago I switched from purely cardio (jogging) to full body weight training and a mix of HIIT no more than 2 times a week and other cardio routines to cross-train with a recovery day. I added a healthy whey protein intake on gym days as well.
At this point from my research I know better than to use the "P" word but I am thinking the massive changes I have thrown at my body are starting to show up in the form of trying to hold on to fat and maintain what it can. I have been recalculating at the 10.lb drop range and just upped my intake by switching to lightly active. Overall I know I am successful as I have been stopped many time at worked unsolicited and questioned how am I losing weight. I really want to know how long to expect this and what I can do to tone up while continuing to drop.

Hi Swampgeek, I dont think yo9ur body is trying to hold on to the fat, it would be nice if you could make your diary public.
I know you want to check your daily progress but it would be good to check the scale like once a week or every two weeks, less stressing
Now, I guess it is normal to lose weight at a faster rate at the very beginning. The absense of sodas in your diet just means you have more room for other foods probably richer in nutrients which is good, but what is really important for now is to make sure you stay within your calories.
I think it is great that you started doing some weights training, you need to work your muscles and make sure you have enough protein in your diet so that you dont lose muscle instead of fat.0
