I couldn't find a group for weight loss and bodybuilding, so I'm posting here.

How do I calculate macros for weight loss? I'm a vegetarian.

Usually people suggest .75-1g of protein per pound of lean body mass (or per kg). .4g of fat per pound then let carbs fill it in. I only worry about protein though. Calories are where is matters most for weight loss. You won’t gain much muscle if any while in a deficit but you can at least maintain what you have through doing weights and eating protein.

I need help here too. I weigh 180, im a 64 yo female, I'm 5'4 and want to lose 20 lbs. I'm not in a hurry. I lift heavy 2x a week and do cardio intervals on the other days and pilates 2x a week. How do I get the extra protein I need without eating too many calories to lose weight?

as a vegetarian make sure u are adding fat....lots of it ....helps great with fat loss. start at maintenance cals and just by shifting macros...lose inches....weight loss is weight loss....lifting or not

Exactly how would lot's of fat help with fat loss?
