Calorie cycling

Hello Everyone. I'm new to myfitnesspal, and have a question for those who have tracked their calories/weightloss for a longer time than I. I am 45 yrs old with 17 lbs to lose.
Has anyone seen trends in their weight loss journey through trying calorie cycling (increasing caloric intake for 2 days every 2 weeks, or 1 day per week, etc)? I've read some advice that suggests that this is a way to keep your body from shifting to lower calorie needs.
I am in the process of practicing it and experimenting with different methods to see what works best, but I'd be really interested in the experience of others.
Happy day to you all!

I don't have a name for it, but I typically eat higher calories on the weekend when I'm cutting weight. I still cut weight just fine...right now, about 1 Lb per week.1
