Rather than focus on gaining weight, I would try to focus more on “healthy living” and then see if your weight falls in line with what you want. I know it might sound counterproductive, but maybe try to get a brisk half hour walk/jog (depending on your ability) in each day. Exercise releases endorphins to help you feel good, and it can naturally increase appetite.
At the same time, I would try to keep snacks healthy-ish... fresh fruit, trail mix, pretzels, cheese sticks. I know you want to gain weight, but I would try to avoid high cal junky food like candy/chips/donuts because it will just make you feel sluggish and icky. Not a helpful habit to develop for the long run either.
Good luck!2 -
You may want to head over to the Gaining section for more advice. Some great info in the stickies in there

Travel somewhere and go on a food tour. For example, go to Chicago and look up the top 5 places to have deep dish pizza and try them all with a friend. It's theraputetic because you're traveling, having new experiences, sight seeing and making weight gain fun and not a chore. It's like when you gain Christmas or Thanksgiving weight.0

Protein shakes, especially if you are working out.
Whole milk, whey protein, peanut butter and a banana blended with ice. Delicious and up to 700-800 calories.0
