I have a lot of weight to lose , and I am 52 so need to lose it , to live to 72 LOL or older . But at my weight now and as much pain as I am in , if I don't lose this weight , i don't think I will live much longer , I am not being dramatic , I mean that !!! Since jan 16th I have been doing the low carb diet or the Keto diet , I have diabetes and it was out of control ,I have been on this site for 4 days now , but since jan 16th my sugar readings have dropped to normal , I went from 245 sometimes higher , to 99 - 141 , the last 5 days it has been in normal ranges . I made myself those wonderful Fat Bombs so when I really have to have sweets or chocolate I eat one . MY husband is not Fat but he is diabetic , so he has been eating what i am eating and his sugar levels have been in normal ranges too . MY life has changed , not my diet , my life . I am doing this for me this time , no one else . I also am not listening to anyone else , the only advice I am taking is my own . I know that sounds mean , but people always want to change what ever you are doing or they want to tell you how bad it is or how stupid you are , and I am not going to listen this time. No one wants me to be this size , but all my life when i lose weight people tell me things that hurt me or stop talking to me or be mean to me , because they don't want me to change (husband) . I can not listen anymore !!! already my legs don't hurt as bad as before . so Thank You for this site , it really helps to log in and be accountable for what i have eaten today !!!! and Hello everyone !!

Welcome,
I think these two links are extremely helpful and can help you get the most out of MFP:
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1
The first covers accurate logging and some of the tools in MFP to help you make things easier. The second discusses caloric needs and setting goals. These two posts completely changed my MFP experience and helped me be much more successful, so I hope they do the same for you.
~Best wishes on your journey
