Tops of feet hurt when running.

I usually run about 6 miles 3 times a week on the elliptical. Lately I've noticed when I'm running the top of my feet will start having sharp pains the sometimes shoot up my ankle and up my leg. It's now starting to get to where the top part of my feel are hurting during other daily acitivites. Has anyone ever experienced this? Any opinions? I was thinking I may need new shoes, but wanted some other input

Sounds like you're lacing them too tightly.0

Could be a lacing problem; could also be narrow shoes. I have very wide feet and I've had this issue with some shoes that weren't wide enough. In either case, the fundamental problem would still be pressure across the top of your foot that leads to inflammation of the tendons. http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/sport-injuries/foot-heel-pain/extensor-tendonitis0
