Earned calories being deleted???

Hi hope someone can help or explain this for me...
My steps during the day automatically go into myfitnesspal through my watch and earn me calories.
Every time I add another activity to myfitnesspal diary i.e. water jogging it gives me the calories earned for that but takes off the calories I had already earned from my walking.
Can anyone explain to me why it does this and if I can stop it from doing that?
I don't want to eat the calories but I love seeing how many I've earned.
Hope that all makes sense!
Thanks in advance,
Tracey

Are the times on your watch and MFP synchronised? Is integration fully enabled between the devices.
The easy explanation is that your adjustments change in order to avoid double counting.
The more in depth explanation goes as follows:
Your exercise adjustment is the DIFFERENCE between what MFP THINKS you will burn based on your inputs (selection of activity level during guided setup, manually added exercise) and what your watch DETECTS as your exercise projected to and FINALISED AT midnight.
So, let's say that MFP expects you to spend 2000 calories to midnight based on your activity level.
Your watch tells MFP at NOON that you have spent 1400 calories so far.
According to MFP at noon you would be expected to spend 1000 calories based on 2000 to midnight.
But you've spent 1400.
So you get a 400 Calorie exercise adjustment.
Now, let's pretend that you tell MFP that you actually exercised for an hour and burned an extra 200 cal.
MFP quickly calculates that at noon you have spent 1000 calories (based on your 2000 to midnight) PLUS 200 cal separately logged exercise... i.e. you've spent 1200 calories according to MFP.
Your watch is still telling MFP at noon that you have spent 1400 calories so far.
Well, 1400 less 1200 is only a difference of 200 Cal. So, obviously, you have only spent an extra 200 over and above what MFP expects you to and your adjustment has to now become 200 Cal instead of 400.
My personal preferred solution is to log all my expenditures in one device and all my food on MFP. You can always make a manual status post if you want to tell your MFPeops what kind of exercise you engaged in.3 -
Hmmm, the annoying thing is I can't wear my watch aqua jogging so there is no double counting in that way. Thanks for the info, I need to read it a couple more times!0

AQUA NOT IN PLAY:
MFP 2000 Cal Watch 2500 Cal Adjustment +500 End result: 2000+500 = 2500 spent (what watch knows)
AQUA IN PLAY and logged in MFP with no transfer of info to watch
MFP 2000+200 Aqua Watch 2500 cal (no idea aqua) Adjustment +300 End results 2200+300 = 2500 spent (what watch knows)
Aqua in play and logged in MFP and transferred to watch automatically or manually
MFP 2000+200 aqua Watch 2500 cal + 200 aqua Adjustment +500 End results 2200+500 = 2700 spent (what watch knows)
Aqua in play and logged in watch only
MFP 2000 Watch 2500 cal + 200 aqua Adjustment +700 End result 2000+700 = 2700 spent (what watch knows)
Integration adjusts MFP to reflect what the watch calculated as your daily expenditure.
Your activity that you want logged has to make it into the watch so that it makes it into the daily burn which is what gets passed back to MFP.2 -
Also make sure when you log exercise in to MFP that the start time and duration is correct, because it will overwrite whatever activity is shown during that time from your watch.2
