Having spent the last 1/4 of 2017 halfheartedly trying to lose weight like many 2018 offed a fresh start. Looking back on the 1st of February i now realize that subconsciously at the end of 2017 I was mentally preparing myself for my own "boot camp" Using "Dry January" as the catalyst increasing walking to at least 5 out of 7 days, focusing on calorie intake with the all but removal of red meat I have lost 23lbs in the month, eating well and balanced, yes it tough but for me a great kick start and motivation to focus on a more sustainable continuation of the diet to loose at last 7lbs in February.

So you had a 6 pound loss per week, or a deficit of 3500*6=21K/7=3K calorie deficit per day? I'm skeptical. How much did you start and end at? Your PP doesn't look like you are that heavy.
ETA: Is this a typo and did you mean 12lbs?2 -
It's doable. I can lose one pound on any given day, but not without starving most of the time.0

I've done the 1lb/day challenge before, which usually involves burning 3500 calories on a treadmill. It's not sustainable to be in that type of caloric deficit for a very long. You'll be hating life pretty fast lol. So sure, if you are in a famine it's doable, but highly unlikely here.2 -
Profile Pic is a little old so not a true reflection at this time, at the start (1st Jan) was 16st 7lbs, yesterday 14st 12lbs, a tough month of focus hence why more moderate and sustainable loos for the next 3 months to get back to the profile pic0

Wow, 3500. What speed and duration on that treadmill? My treadmill runs yield maybe a tenth of that burned.0 -

It wasn't a run, it was just a walk. 4.0 at a slight incline. It was about 7 to 8 hours through out the day. So we are talking well into the 30mile range. Like I said, it sucked lol. It was just a challenge that I decided to do but I was also used to walking 20+ miles and running half marathons at the time.
