This is what I made for my wife last year for Valentine's Day. Fondue. Planning on doing it again this year because she really liked it. I also just ordered 27 roses to be sent to her work. Because this is out 27th Valentine's Day together.

I'm going to buy myself something, don't know what yet. I don't like food rewards so probably clothes5

I wasn't into the forced commercialized sentimentality of this "holiday" when I was married, so I'm definitely not now. Although my ex wasn't exactly romantically inclined. Still. If I'm with someone special, I'd rather spoil him with attention and affection every night and then plan something a little extra at home just for the two of us on V-Day...
An indoor picnic, movie marathon in bed, a bubble bath and nice bottle of wine, candles... something private, romantic, and memorable. But I was never high-maintenance.
Last year was my third V-Day alone in 20-something years. I watched Kinky Boots and Taming of the Shrew (1967 version--Liz Taylor and Richard Burton) back-to-back and pigged out on popcorn. Alone. It was awesome.

No. And there was once upon a time when it mattered. Now it's just another day. Make me dinner on Monday and take the kids for a few hrs on Saturday so I can catch up on sleep. That's more appreciated than Hallmark holidays in my book.2

I'm gonna make chocolate covered strawberries, take a bubble bath, put a mask on and mentally prepare myself to see a real *kitten* of a client the next day.2

I will be working...as usual....I'm a server in a steakhouse. I will be running my butt off for people who are basically clueless that Valentine's Day is the worst day of the year to go out for dinner...followed closely be New's Years Eve, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. We will be packed. Everyone will be impatient and completely unaware that there are other tables in the restaurant and that if you're on a tight schedule, pull to the drive thru and talk to the clown face. Why do people think a packed sit-down restaurant is going to be fast?? Rant over. Thanks for listening.2

Every year I get a call from my mom wishing me a happy Valentine's Day and not to give up hope and I'll find someone eventually. And then I try to overdose on Sweethearts candies.3

Well thus far the weather here for Valentine's Day, indicates that it'll be partly cloudy {with a chance, of meatballs; lol }; @ 52° Fahrenheit! So hopefully I'll be healthy enough to do some volunteer work then, although I am still uncertain concerning; exactly what I'd be doing!1

Wednesday is a karate day. So I will have to make some wine gummy hearts for dessert0
