Weighing Myself

Hi Everyone! My name is Georgia Kett and I have been on My Fitness Pal for a while now, however having said that, I have a question.
The other day, yesterday to be accurate I weighed myself at 6:32 am, no clothes, been to the loo and no breakfast. Later on in that day I went to the gym but, they didn’t have the usual digital scales I used so I just stood on the only available ones clothed and a stomach satisfied after eating my breakfast.
Obviously I have received different results, but I’ve been pondering which will be more accurate. What do you guys think? Thanks Georgia x

Don't sweat the accuracy of one scale to another. If you have a scale at home use that one and pay attention to the overall trend. When you hit your ideal weight & body composition attempt to stay at that number.2

Thankyou for your comment! I just want to get peoples opinions on which scales will show my recent weight:)0

You could weigh yourself on ten scales and get ten different weights. Just pick one and use it.5

You want the most apples to apples comparison. So pick one (probably the one at home), weigh at the same time, under the same circumstances (not clothed, having gone to the loo, no breakfast). You want to see the TREND going up or down, no absolute numbers.3

Any time you weigh, it's nothing more than a snapshot of that exact moment. Drink a glass of water, you'll weigh more; go to the bathroom or have a good workout where you sweat a lot, you'll probably weigh less. Weigh in the evening after a full day of eating/drinking and moving around, you'll probably weigh more than you did that morning. Step on one scale and then step on another, they'll show different weights. Do a hard workout, eat a lot of high-sodium foods, your weight will probably be significantly higher the next morning (maybe up to 6-8 pounds different).
We don't have an "actual weight" - we have a range we're in at any given time. If you want to narrow that down as much as possible, eliminate as many variables as you can - i.e., weigh naked in the morning, after using the bathroom, on the same scale in the same place every time. Use a weight trending app such as Happy Scale (iOS), Libra (Android), Trendweight.com (web), etc. to track your overall trend over time and smooth out the (perfectly normal) daily fluctuations.2 -
hi i prefer analog machines the bigger one over small household digital machines. just a preference. but i track weight by following trend of night weight at 11 00 pm. that is when my weight is highest throughout the day.0

I'd take the morning weight. At the gym you were clothed and had a stomach full of food/water which will add lbs.1 -
I use morning weight, after using the toilet and before breakfast, dressed in just my underwear. Why? This one is the most concise as there are less variables coming into play. Accuracy can only play a small part because so many factors will cause fluctuations which you have little control over. I also pay little attention to the day to day number and more on the overall trend. Always remember that weight loss and fat loss are not necessarily the same thing.0
