I can't remember how long the battle of 3 armies was in the book but it was only a small part but apparently it's worth 3 hours on screen.0 -

Yeah I've read The Hobbit twice and as soon as I heard it was going to be split into three movies I was surprised.
Obviously a lot of events happen in it but the book wasn't even that long. If they felt they had to split it up I think two would've sufficed.
Probably just one since it was a very short book. LOTR was an epic but the Hobbit was just a children's story.

It's a short book but still needs more then 3 hours. I think they were just going to do 2 movies but the studio was like, "2, why not 3 for more money?"1

Blasphemy, the hobbit is an amazing story regardless if it’s solely a children’s story. Although, I do agree that two movies would of been suffice.
Or one quality animated movie(which exists)
I do love the book though1 -

They should've had one where he's booing and they could've said Ed Jeeran
Or grilling steak And he could be ed seeran
Or just his face in a grass field that says 'ed clearing'0 -
