I heard a kid pronounce Uranus as "ur-un-us" the other day.
I told him he was saying it wrong. Apparently that's what they're teaching them these days.
As a teacher it's probably hard to stand at the head of the class and say Uranus the old fashioned way while keeping a straight face, honestly.

Are you kidding? If I was a teacher I'd dedicate.a whole lesson off making jokes about Uranus I'd even pay a kid to sit in the back to yell things like "your mom" and "that's what she said"

This is what classrooms need these days. Less bullets, more bathroom/body humor.

I'm contemplating a doctor's appt. But tbh I'm always nervous either I'll find out I'm about to die, or they wont find anything wrong and I'm basically a *kitten* or have some rare disease

Are you talking about your potential asthma?

Literally every time I'd go for it (before it was under control) I'd say, "I've just been having trouble breathing," and they'd listen to my breath and be like, "there's zero wheezing" which would frustrate the heck outta me because I would wheeze all damn night but of course I would never wheeze while at the doctor's office

This happened to me too. Also my asthma went away in my 20's, I don't know why. The key for me was taking the breath test thing they do for it.

With a peak flow meter? Or did you sit in one of those chamber thingies where they block your nose and make you blow into a big machine? (I got to do that one and it was weird).

    Just the flow meter.

that seems like the appropriate response

I think it's because I'm old and in denial.

I'm talking about my adult onset asthma...it comes like clockwork every night at 9pm.... but it's been getting worse and just longer inthe mornings.

    Make an appointment!

And when you call, tell them it's asthma-related and that might get you in faster.

I love you for using this
