Treating yourself with intermediate rewards?

So I lost 20 lbs about a year ago, and one of the things that really ended up helping me was purchasing new clothes about half way through the process. I originally wanted to hold out until I got to my goal weight, but finally gave in when I realized it would take time. And it was amazing how motivating it was, to wear new, cute clothes mid-way through the journey. I never would have suspected it would encourage me to keep at it. Does this work for others?

i buy new clothes when the ones i have dont fit.
going from a size 22 (where i started) to a 10 (where i am now), it would not have been possible to continue to wear the same clothing.5 -
I bought some clothes because I like to wear clothes that fit no matter my weight. I didn't really think of it as a reward. It certainly felt better than wearing something baggy though. Feeling better is encouraging I guess.3

Yes. I have decided to award myself swimming items. I started mfp on new years eve. I lost 17 pounds in January so I bought a new swimsuit.
For feburary, it will hopefully be a set of short fins if I can find some I like. I already bought the fin socks.3 -
I went through several wardrobes while losing 150. Thank goodness for Goodwill!5

I've lost 20 pounds so far and bought myself several new clothing items. I've also been getting rid of old fat clothes when they become too big. I would say these things have really made a difference in enjoying this weight loss journey.2

Yep, recently bought some sweatpants a couple of days ago because my others were getting loose.1

What @Lounmoun said. I bought new clothes because I've always liked clothes and want them to fit.
I thought about doing something to reward myself while/after losing 80 lbs, but nothing ever comes close to the feeling of satisfaction of having achieved what I set out to do.0
