Hey guys hope you're all well :D

To all my keto goers and non keto peeps I was wondering has anyone had MCT and coconut oil and can give me an opinion on the difference and if it's worth getting MCT oil?

What are you hoping they'll do for you?

They are a way of getting some healthy fat into your diet, that's all. Coconut oil is cheaper. But some people don't like the taste of coconut oil in their coffee so they are willing to buy mct oil. I don't like coconut but I love coconut oil. Go figure. So I've never bought mct oil. I've also never made bpc. It's a personal preference.

I use coconut oil to fry my eggs. I've never tried MCT oil, it's too expensive for my taste.

I have both. I use them for different things.

Virgin coconut oil has a coconutty taste and a lower smoke point but is nice in baking or coffee if you like the flavour. Solid at room temperature.

Refined coconut oil is also solid at room temp but it has very little coconut flavour and a higher smoke point. I use it for some baking, cooking and frying.

MCT oil is liquid at room temp, and even when kept in the fridge. It is also fairly flavourless so it is good for cooking. If you are chasing ketones, usually for a medical reason like mental clarity, then MCT oil is good because it turns to ketones very quickly. Even if one is not usually ketogenic, eating MCT will produce ketones. Coconut oil also has MCT oil in it, but to a lesser degree.
