Lightly Active

I started working for my dad recently part time and I've been super hungry. Its been hard for me to stick to my calorie goal and I overate quite a bit one day. I stand, walk short distances, lift packages, and my arms are constantly moving for about 3-4 hours 5 days a week. Would this mean I should change from sedentary to lightly active? I had been losing great about 2.4 lbs a week at 280 lbs.

Also should I eat less on the weekend when I am more sedentary?0

I'd suggest eating more on your work days, and slowing your weight loss a bit. If you have been keeping accurate (insofar as possible) data by weighing/measuring your food and using reliable data base entries for calories, you can up your work-day calories by 500-750 and see if that helps your goal to maintain a weekly deficit without feeling like you are starving. In terms of eating less on the weekend, that is up to you. Some folks find it helps to set a weekly calorie goal (mine is around 9500 to lose about 2 pounds a month) and work with that.1

At 280 lbs you've got a while before your get to normal weight. It is also a good idea to figure out what caused you to get to 280 and make, test, and embed some changes that will keep you from returning there.
While 2.4lbs a week is not beyond 1% of bodyweight, and so is probably not detrimentally fast, feeling that things are too difficult is counter productive to adhering to your weight-loss plans.
There is no special prize at the end of the rainbow, other than inner satisfaction. It will just be the time where you will start maintaining instead of losing. Hopefully by then you will have recognized that you will more, or less, just be continuing to do what got you there in the first place, if you want to maximize your chances to maintain.
All this to say that you shouldn't be afraid to adjust your rate of loss and in fact may want to reel it in such that your deficit is not exceeding 20% of your TDEE (25% while obese)
And life happens and the occasional night out is ok too. Assuming it remains occasional!
So active may well be a more appropriate setting... and nothing stops you from being more active on the weekend even if not workingor adjusting your intake a bit if that suits you better.

For a long time I just ate what I wanted pretty much and really didn't believe I could lose the weight. Even in elementary school I was about 20 or 30 lbs overweight. Then I gain some during pregnancy and after. I was in a very stressful and emotionally abusive situation with my husband who I am now separated from. I finally started to believe I could lose the weight a while ago but feel like I've been sabotaged by a medication I gained huge amounts of weight on. For some reason my doctor doesn't really care. I really would like to find someone else. I've actually lost about 50 lbs so far and definitely feel like I can lose more. I really hate being this size and would like to be able to move better than I ever have.3

You shouldn't feel starved. Feel free to play around with your daily calories a bit.
Also make sure you are meeting your protein, fat, and fiber targets (those are minimum numbers in your diary not maximum in spite of the numbers turning red when you go over LOL.) I have found that if I eat more protein fat and fiber I am less hungry throughout the day. I tried to get at least 20 to 30 grams of protein per meal.
It is difficult for me to get my fat numbers every day but I try. I just drizzled a tbsp of olive oil on my broccoli to boost my fat intake for the day LOL.
Also, don't neglect carbs... They give you energy!5 -
Take your time and enjoy your trip! There is a balance between effort needed for success and needless discomfort.4

Thanks everyone. It is a little scary to increase my calories even if I do need to for continued success. I wasn't sure if a part time job would require changes in calories like one that is full time.2

Wouldn’t hurt to move a little more on weekends too!1

I actually do work out longer on the weekend. I will try adding other activities too.0
