Weight gain and squishy lumpy fat

About a week before my mentatral cycle, I gained from 128 to 130.5lbs. But even after my period ended, the weight didn't go back down entirely; now I am at 129.5lbs... i have also noticed that when I was at 130.5, my fat deposit was still firm, and there was just a layer of water about the firm fat that had no lumpy fat in it. But now (two weeks after my weight spike), I can feel an increasing amount of fat deposits that feel like mini marbles in the place that felt originally water-filled two weeks ago. My stomach and lower belly are now very soft and jiggly. I haven't had a cheat meal in the recent weeks and haven't had any changes in caloric intake and exercise. Am I getting the pre-whoosh symptoms, or am I actually gaining fat?

I think maybe you're overthinking all of it. One does not gain fat overnight. Weight fluctuates daily, water retention fluctuates daily. Just look at your overall weight trend in the coming weeks and relax. If you're logging accurately, you'll be fine.4

Thanks! Yeah perhaps I'm just getting too paranoid at the scale number. Ideally I would love to see a linear weight loss, but sadly that's not how life works. I'll keep tracking and see where it goes.1
