I have a pain condition which i have to take gabapentin and amytriptiline for. Its put stones on me, and its a vicious circle, no matter how hard I try to lose weight, just wondered how many other people might be in the same boat?

I started taking antidepressants last year when I was at my lowest weight and before I knew it I had put on the stone I had just lost and it just kept coming back. I've recently came off of my antidepressants after being on them for almost a year because I just feel like I don't need them anymore.

Is it possible for you to talk to your doctor about the side effects the medication is having on you? Weight gain/loss is usually a side effect doctors want to discuss and see if there's anything then can do to help

I agree with the post above. Talk with your doctor, express you weight loss goals, and see if there is something else you can take that doesn't have the weight gain effect.

I'm on a pill for migraines that is really bad at causing appetite loss, I'm not having any issues there but it was discussed with the doctor because he know I'm in maintenance and trying not to drop any more weight.
