Popcorn has lots of fat!

Real butter is actually good!
Nuts, cheese, pork skins are a better snacking option than popcorn
Why are they better? Do you mean for you or for everyone?
I personally prefer popcorn because I pre-log all my calories for my meals and when I snack I'm typically adding calories. Calorie-dense stuff like nuts doesn't really work well for me in that context. Also, I find popcorn to be delicious and satisfying. If you're a volume eater, a big bowl of popcorn may be more satisfying than a small portion of nuts (for the same calories).4 -

Define "better". They're all much more calorie dense, which means you get smaller quantities of them for the same amount of calories. Which may not be as satiating to some people, which means they'll overeat them.2 -

All foods are made out of carbs, fat, or protein. Which of those did you expect popcorn to be high in? Are you keeping carbs low for medical reasons, personal preference, or because you've read some mumbo jumbo nonsense about carbs turning into fat? Your posting history suggests that it might be beneficial to stop reading whatever sources you're reading and start back at the basics of how the body actually works.
I sprinkle BCAAs on my popcorn.
Actually I put BCAAs on BEFORE I cook it. Damn things are the size of cotton balls when it's done.1 -

Ok? I'm honestly not sure what point you're trying to make directing this to me. People should put whatever they want on their popcorn as long as they're doing so in an informed manner. It didn't sound like the OP was.1 -
did you maybe log for the popped volume instead of just the kernels?
idk, just wondering because you seem so shocked.0 -

Carbs and fats are two different things. Sugar is a carb. Popcorn doesn't turn into sugar while cooking.
Well, it's a whole grain, so it does in fact have some fat, even without adding oil or butter.
That's a serving size of 8 grams. They're allowed to round down.
It has 4.5 g fat per 100 grams. That's about 40 kcal from fat in a 387 kcal serving, or more than 10% of kcals from fat.

This thread is hilarious. Moderate amounts of popcorn is fine. Some are more "fattening" then others but it's unlikely its the main reason for weight accumulation.0

I wasn't eating popcorn to lose weight...just as a light snack plus for the fiber. I was surprised because popcorn is so light and fluffy...that it contained as many carbs as it does for one...and for two, the fat content in the one that I was eating. It does not taste like there is any oil at all in it. I just never looked at the package info before I logged it. That's all. I was just pointing out my surprise.0

Then perhaps a better title for your thread would have been... "I SHOULD BE MORE OBSERVANT!"
