Water gain when weaning off from Ketosis

I started gained around 2 Ibs (from 128-130.5) two weeks ago, and my weight went back to around 129.5lb this week. Coincidentally (or not), I was weaning out of ketosis and for the first time in 6 months, I did not have ketones. Although I didn't gain a lot of water weight, I did notice that my mid-section (stomach and lower belly) becomes puffier and significantly softer. I'm assuming that it's probably all the water went to. But out of curiosity, has anyone else experienced such thing (softer belly) when weaned off from ketosis?

Yes! I also noticed that I gained back a few pounds. This was part of why I stopped doing keto because it wasn’t sustainable for me without cheat days which included carbs and I was sick of the jump on the scale and how I felt when I would go out of ketosis.

Alatariel75 is right. The other thing that is happening is your body sheds sodium and other electrolytes when on keto; so when you are off it can retain it once again. So basically you are better hydrated.
