    Calorie deficit for weight loss.

Drink green tea if you like green tea

Green tea is virtually calorie-free so it's very easy to fit into a diet where the goal is a calorie deficit. The calorie deficit will create weight loss.

Years ago I tried it and had no weight loss resulting from green tea.
I had plenty of results just watching calorie intake.
Drink it if you like it but don't expect it to do much for weight loss.

Exactly the same as proper diet and exercise without green tea.

It has health benefits, but weight loss isn't one of them. I wish it was.

I drink green tea nearly every day. I lose weight, maintain weight, and gain weight drinking it. It's nice to have something that I like the taste of that doesn't have "any" Calories, but it doesn't have anything resembling a significant effect on weight maintenance.

The bolded is the important part...green tea has nothing to do with weight management...though it is a good source of antioxidants...as is coffee...

Green tea is yummy, low or no calorie and is very versatile. It does have bit of caffeine though so probably adding it earlier in the day rather than near bedtime is best.
Otherwise most off the diet and more magical health properties are, as far as I've been able to find, unproven, and generally unfounded.

Studies showed that large amounts of green tea extract boosted the metabolism by a very small amount. Green Tea sellers immediately started screaming "Green Tea makes you lose weight!!!!" and off it went.

The only way green tea helps you lose weight is if you drink it instead of sugary lattes.

Green Tea isn't a miracle weight loss cure. Eating less calories than we burn = weight loss.

    This. 10 times.

Also green/black/white tea has caffeine which acts as a minor appetite suppressant if you're not already caffeine acclimated.

While I like coffee, your thoughts on green tea make kitty sad.

Green tea has nothing to do with weight loss.

It does have several benefits, such as antioxidants and has a mild blood thinning impact.

With that I have to share - I had a panicked physician who was conducting a dermal implantation using a 26 ga needle (0.46 mm outer diameter) and could not stop the bleeding. Turns out this woman was on a green tree regimen and drinking a cup of green tea every waking hour and had done this for weeks - essentially removing her clotting factors.

As in all things - use in moderation.
