The macros are more like guidelines than hard & fast rules. Calories are king for just weight loss. Macros can help with things like how you feel, gym performance, health, satiety, etc, but it's not necessary to be strict with them. People feel best on all sorts of different macro splits, so you can play around and see what you like best.

no...and trying to be bang on with your macros is going to basically be an exercise in futility.

Calories are what is going to be important for weight loss. Be sure to get yourself a digital food scale and weigh everything. Guessing portions isn't accurate most of the time and usually leads to a lot of wasted effort. People wonder why they aren't losing weight and don't understand that they are not tracking properly. Be sure to weigh your solids and use a measuring cup for liquid.
As far as macros are concerned, just do your best. You won't gain weight because your over in carbs or whatever. That's an old myth. ( Even though myths still fly around here rampantly!) No certain food or food type will cause you gain weight, a calorie surplus does. Do your best to get adequate nutrition and don't worry when your a bit over or under.
As long as you create a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. Regardless of macros.
