I enjoyed caloriecount.com when it existed and hopefully I'll find some old friends here and make some new ones to help me blast off this confounded twenty pounds that keeps creeping back.

Approaching old age (not quite there yet and I will stay in denial), I realized my goals for weight loss and maintenance have completely changed.

In my teenage years, I didn't like weighing close to 200 pounds. In my twenties, it was to look good on the dance floor (remember 80s techno?). In my thirties, it was to make sure all my "power suits" continued to fit (loved those big shoulders and hair because it balanced out the hips). In my forties, I was trying to combat the paunch and hips put on from pregnancies (I cried the first time I looked down at myself after giving birth). Now, in my fifties, I just want to be as healthy as possible (that sounds so cliched...okay, I want to look good again in blue jeans and get rid of that pesky bra fat.)
