I’ve realized to be successful I need to buy a food scale. Im totally new to using one. I’m getting overwhelmed with all the options on line/ fake reviews. I Would appreciate true recommendations from the community, thank you!

I just went through this search as well and in the end decided against getting a food scale. My reason for not getting a food scale is that I am not able to track my calorie burn accurately enough to worry about trying to track my caloric intake to the nearest 0.1 gram or even the nearest 0.25 oz. I decided to stick with measuring cups for most food. If I were to get a food scale I would get one with the weight that slides along a bar i.e. a mechanical scale.4

I love this one. I actually got one for my mom for Christmas and when I was showing her how to use it I realized I liked it a lot better than mine so I bought myself one too! It's only $11 too which is a plus. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Stainless-Digital-Batteries-Included/dp/B06X9NQ8GX/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1518108250&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=food+scale+amazon+basics&psc=11

I replaced mine with this one. You can get it at bed bath and beyond with a 20% off coupon and their return policy can't be beat. I like that it has a pull out display for large dishes or for when I make a big batch of something and need a large bowl to weigh and figure out servings. So far I love it.

This may sound slightly silly, but depending on your needs head over to the nearest tobacco/head shop and pick up a stoner scale for 20 bucks. Super accurate to the tenth of a gram. Not ideal for bulk but a few lbs worth of food works great0

This is the scale that I've been using for years and it works perfectly for me! I like that you can remove the measuring plate to clean it. You'd be surprised on how messy they can get, so being able to wash it is a plus for me. I usually measure in grams, but it has ounces/pounds if you prefer. I even use it to weigh packages to send in the mail and never had trouble with it measuring inaccurately. I'd recommend it!0 -
Honestly any scale that is digital, can switch between metric and imperial units, and has a tare button will do. But I’m going to go against the person above me and say don’t buy anything from Taylor. I owned two and they were both terrible.0

I have 2 scales ... one of them can use negative numbers, ie put a bowl of food on the scale, tare, and as you remove the food you get a number for joe much is missing ( -135g) where as the other one just gets confused ( —- ) ... the counting backwards I find really useful when doing multiple people and you don’t have to keep putting plates on and off the scale0
