Hey all, thought I'd ask for help with a Keto diet for focus and mental capability in school.

As a student I only possess the time for a post like this. So please help!
I stand (and sit) six feet six inches tall, and am pretty thin already at 180lbs so the focus isn't for gaining weight although it'd be nice.

Here's the goals

3360 Calories
70% 261g Fat
25% 210g Protein
5% 42g Carbs

If anyone knows a little something about bulk cooking, recipes, and shopping lists, don't hesitate to send me advice even if it's condescending (lol). God bless!

When I did keto, I did find I had more mental clarity and energy, and slept quite well. I ended up quitting because I love carbs too much though, hah.

The key is to keep your electrolytes balanced, especially in the first couple weeks. Ramp up your sodium, magnesium and potassium intake.

    Here's a good keto overview: https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/wiki/faq

    And recipes:

I know enough about nutrition, shopping, cooking and eating to be able to tell you that the most important aspect of any diet, is that you like that way of eating, that you should cook meals you want to eat, and plan your meals, and that a grocery list is the foods and ingredients you need to make the meals you have planned.

The Keto and low carber daily groups have list of unfollow you might use.

Remember to increase sodium to at least 3000-5000 mg a day to avoid electrolyte imbalance/keto flu (headaches, fatigue, brain fog, stomach issues and muscle aches).

You may want to use some MCT or coconut oil in the first few days to increase ketones while you body adjusts to fat for fuel. The brain runs very well on ketones but it takes a day or so to get the evens higher... Don't switch right before a major test or assignment. ;)

I suggest sticking to whole foods as much as possible. Meats, veggies, nuts, seeds, olives, coconut, dairy, seafood and avocado are all very nutritious foods. Things like Atkins bars are not as healthy.

    Good luck.
