Slimmer waist, flatter tummy...fast!

Hi!
I’m looking to trim up a bit in the next 2 weeks. I’m eating more as MFP suggests (trying to stick to my calories in versus calories out, depending on exercise) but need some top tips! Feel bloated and can pinch just a little bit more than an inch!
I exercise daily, I’m a vegetarian, my diet is mainly clean and pretty healthy...
I know I can’t expect miracles in a fortnight, it takes a while to be safe and steady etc, but any extra tips much appreciated!

Because I’ve got an extremely tight UK size 8 dress to wear! It fits, I can do it up, I just don’t look as streamlined as I’d like! Feeling a bit frumpy6

If you want a temporary fix, going low-carb/keto will eliminate a lot of bloating, thus making your waist look slimmer.
I had ordered a brisdemaid dress for my friend's wedding a bit late, and when it arrived, it was a lot smaller than I expected. I couldn't even zip it up. So I did 2 weeks of keto (under 20g net carbs every day) and it fit like a glove on the wedding date.
I wouldn't normally suggest temporary fixes, but if you just want to shed some water weight and reduce bloating, there's nothin' better than keto. Keep in mind your water weight will return within a day of you eating carbs again.17 -

If you want a temporary fix, going low-carb/keto will eliminate a lot of bloating, thus making your waist look slimmer.

The kind of diet that has visible results in 2 weeks is (in my view) likely to be the worst, most uncomfortable thing ever... lol.14 -

Not to mention the distinct possibility of ....*ahem*...."digestive".... issues if you suddenly take in a bunch of carbs after doing low-carb for a while. Parties aren't much fun if you spend the whole time listening to them from inside the bathroom.

I don't understand.
You're going to wear the dress for a few hours.
You're going to wear your body for a lifetime.
So temporarily abusing the outside of your body for a few hours wearing Spanx or whatever other shapewear is more uncomfortable than abusing the insides of your body for two weeks?
You can:
- do a normal lower Cal diet and maybe lose enough weight to make a difference (though probably not) and maybe keep that loss moving forward
- get shapewear and be relatively uncomfortable for a few hours. Or spend the money and get a new dress that fits which will be financially uncomfortable.
- do a low carb diet a few days before the event thus dropping water weight (possibly not feeling that great see keto flu and warnings upthread etc) and regain that water weight as soon as you reintroduce carbs. Watch it that on the rebound you don't regain past your initial start point by too much.
- do an unhealthy unsustainable diet thus slightly damaging your body and almost guaranteeing that you will regain that weight plus a bit more at the completion of the diet.

Spanx are only unbearably uncomfortable if you buy them in too small a size.
I wore a body conscious dress to a wedding this summer and didn't want any visible lines under it from my undergarments. I wore a shapewear slip to smooth everything out so my bra lines and panty lines weren't showing. I was perfectly comfortable the whole day because my shapewear full slip was the right size.
I have in the past let my vanity lead me to purchase shapewear that was too small. Wearing that was a nightmare.
If you diet off some water weight using keto, anything you eat and drink at your event is just going to bloat you anyway.
Get proper fitting shapewear or a different dress and relax.7 -

I just threw that out there so you young females can get your cogitators cogitating. My tip to the OP is that you don't 'allow' any cheat days or meals until your cute little dress fits.4 -

You can absolutely make small visual changes by cutting water weight, but you are not going to make permanent physiological changes in 2 weeks. Eat at a deficit, make sure what you eat is low sodium and low carb, and exercise enough that you sweat like crazy.
Just keep in mind that what you lose is going to be bloat, not fat. You will gain it back as soon as you go back to eating what a normal person would eat.5
