Water

I drink tea, unsweetened but with a splash of milk, i count the milk, but i was wondering what the general consensus on Tea and whether or not it would count as water or not.
Ive read online that it is just the same, especially unsweetened, its just that I would never reach for a bottle of water, no matter how hard i try, sometimes when i train, but i find it hard to drink 1.5 - 2 litres of the clear stuff.
I also worry that it might hamper weight loss if i dont drink plain water.

It counts as water. Are you drinking a liter of tea, though? You still need to hydrate yourself which, oddly enough, helps you avoid water retention. I believe you can purchase zero calorie or low calorie water flavorings, which some people find helpful to increasing their water intake. It's worth looking into!0

My body counts tea as water, so I do too. I'm against over-complicating things.3

4-6 cups of tea/coffee anything over is counter productive and can de-hydrate you I drink 3.7 litres of water a day + tea/coffee15

Tea and coffee are like 99.9% water... why the heck wouldn't you count it?!4

Don't know what that says I'm on.my phone but I watched a documentary on it the other day called food fact or scare and they said tea/coffee does count towards your intake as long as you don't go over as the caffeine content would counter act any hydration benefits if you don't agree fine we will just agree to disagree14 -

This is a myth (not the caffeine part, but the dehydration part).2 -

Just because you see something on a documentary doesn't mean that it's true though . . . .7 -
I sometimes buy Ice brand sparkling water. I like the grapefruit and lemonade flavors. Like you, I often don't want to be stuck with the blandness of regular water.0

No.

Interesting I was just thinking about this today while adding the food. I assume it would count as just water. I drink Moroccan green tea no sugar added but add some lemon. I love drinking it cold! Helped me loose weight after I had my son. Whatever you add to it like milk, sugar, honey then you would have to measure it and add it. I drink tea during the day whenever I feel like it but not when working out.1

It really doesn't matter one bit. As long as your pee is clear, I really don't know why everyone is always obsessing over drinking enough water or not.2

*shakes head sadly*
It's a Big Water Conspiracy! Look at all the ads for water you see around all the time - and the hyper-palatable flavors that fill the shelves. We don't have a chance.
eta: I'm actually only half-joking, it really does benefit the folks who sell bottled water in all it's forms if we all believe that we need a lot more water than necessary to survive, and that tap water is poison.

Why is coffee important? If you drink too much doesn't the caffeine act like a diet pill?0
