Adjust Diet Profile or count Commute as Excercise?

I've been tracking calories/ exercise for about a month now, and I've noticed that on days when I commute to work via public transit, I'm generally much hungrier than when I drive. My commute involves walking about 3 miles (up and down very hilly terrain, also I walk around 4-4.5 mph), but I work at a desk job so I didn't think this would factor into my overall calories because I sit most of the day.

Even after shifting towards a lower-carb, higher protein balance and loading up on vegetables, I can't quite seem to get full. Should I change my fitness profile? Currently it's set to sedentary. I workout 45-75 min at least three days a week (usually on the days I don't commute via transit).

You should either count the walk as exercise, or bump your activity level. If you don't walk consistently, then I would add it as exercise on the days you do.

Not sure how close MFP is, but if you want a good guess at the calorie burn,

weight * distance * .3 comes close. For me it would be close to 200 cals.

Agree with the above. If it's inconsistent, then add it in as exercise. If it's daily, then up your daily activity (or just add it as exercise daily).
