Front of thighs....help!

I have strange shaped thighs! From the front they look normal (if a little chunky) all my side lunges and adduction exercises are helping out there but omg...from the side they look awful. I'm carrying a lot of wobbly fat on the front of my thighs and if I managed to get rid of that my legs would look in proportion. It's basically a D shape when I'm standing profile on.

Are there any particular exercises that will help without bulking them up? I know losing weight will help as you can't spot reduce but I'm seeing subtle results from other leg exercises so I'm willing to try any fir the front of my thighs.

Thank you in advance for any replies.

You're seeing subtle results because you're losing weight and body fat.

So, keep losing weight and body fat and you'll eventually get the results you want. No exercises are going to bulk up your legs without a calorie surplus, tons of protein, a progressive loading program and (potentially) supplements. Your legs may change shape and the muscle will become more visible, but they won't get bigger.

Keep a moderate deficit, keep exercising, and you will lose the fat on your thighs.

it is a work in progress, I promise you. And it might take MONTHS to see what you want to see. This is 6 or 7 months worth of leg pictures! I started with super jiggly thighs, and now the only real place I have fat is on the inside.

It a work in progress plus until just before its gone you'll always hold water there, so in the last few days you will go from wobble to nothing.

I have the same problem where the fat in front of my thighs bulge out from my bikini area. So from the side it's like convex. It looks awesome in any pants from the front too.
  • Lunges and thigh lifts are probbaly the most effective excersize you can do

The jury seems to be out on spot-reduction itself but the combination of diet & exercise definitely improves fat reduction as a whole.

Results of a study on high-intensity interval training versus stead-state:

Conclusions:HIIE three times per week for 15 weeks compared to the same frequency of SSE exercise was associated with significant reductions in total body fat, subcutaneous leg and trunk fat, and insulin resistance in young women.International Journal of Obesity (2008) 32, 684–691; doi:10.1038/sj.ijo.0803781; published online 15 January 2008

A little more to the point that there might be some variations but the body tends to burn fat evenly.

Nindl et al. (2000) conducted a training study (strength and
endurance training) over a period of 6 months. Subjects lost
2.6 kg of fat mass: 1.3 kg in the trunk and 1.1 kg in the arm
region. A relative decrease of 31% of fat mass occurred in
the arms, while the percentage change in fat tissue of the legs
remained the same. Redmann et al. (2007) showed that
weight loss was spread out evenly. Thus, the distribution of
body fat remained essentially unchanged. These results were
seen both in the group with a reduced daily caloric intake and
in the diet plus exercise with no signiWcant diVerence
between the groups. The present study was comparable to
Redman and Okura et al. (2004); fat reduction was distributed
evenly over the whole body. The largest relative loss of
fat mass in the test groups was in the trunk (DEP with 4.8%)
and lowest in the arms (D with 1.1%).
