Any suggestions for a good Valentine's evening dessert that the girls can make here at home that isn't over the top crazy high in calories?

I suggested Angel Food Cake with strawberries and whipped cream and now I'm being told, "Dad, you can cheat for one day."

What do your girls like? Just because you assist with the baking doesn't mean you have to eat the treats (or weigh and log it if you do - fit it within your daily/weekly calories).

What do you consider too high calorie?
I made apple pie and cherry pie. I consider 1 piece of pie for me to not be too crazy high calorie.

Very good point about not eating. I'll probably sample whatever they make, which could be some kind of cake, pie or custard. It's too late to pull off cheesecake for today.

Cakes or cookies are always fun especially if they can frost them and add decorations. Becomes more than just baking so it may keep you busy so you don't indulge too much.

Angel food cake is an excellent choice- all those egg whites.

I love it so I alway have it as my low cal, but decadent feeling, dessert with fruit and cream. You could always use low cal Cool Whip instead of cream. But why?

It is one day, have a dessert you love. There are going to be a lot of Valentine's Days in your life, learn to work with them.

    Cheers, h.
