Working out in AM vs. PM

Why is it that when I work out in the AM I’m rarely sore the day after, but if I workout in the PM I’m extremely sore?

    Perhaps it's just because you keep moving throughout the day which helps stretch off your muscles, whereas if it's PM you're not?
