Hi.
- I am a type 2 diabetic - so carbs are out.
- I've has a sleeve gastrectomy so I have a half cup capacity stomach.
- I have a 20x20 cm piece of mesh in my abdominal wall holding everything in following a bowel perforation and subsequent infection.
- I have adhesive disease in my abdomen which causes life threatening bowel obstructions, so I cannot eat pips, seeds, nuts, fruit, vege, or any fibre.
- I am unable to tolerate most sweetner - so shakes are out too.
- I am following a keto diet now and take chromium, magnesium and good multi vits.
I am completely over pureed food, juicing. I have tried meal replacements and juice plus.
I eat approximately 300 - 500 calories a day and drink lots of water - but in still 80kg. Is there anyone out there that has any suggestions for me? I really feel like giving up eating and asking for a feeding tube

Talk to your doctors about your concerns.

I think with your various medical issues you really need to speak to your doctor and get referred to a registered dietitian. Do you not have one from when you had your sleeve done? Any advice you receive via strangers on the internet could cause you problems, you really need an expert who is familiar with your medical history. All the very best, get the expert advice and keep at it, a feeding tube is not the answer.5

Thanks, yes I have spoken with numerous doctors, dieticians, specialists and a psycjologist and there is nothing that can be done for me from a treatment point of view. They have recommended pain medications, lay down after eating to help with digestion. Drink the meal replacement drinks and stay at home to deal with the stomach dumping and diarrhea and take multi vits. As my condition has continued to worsen over 7 years I am now considered chronic. My doctor suggested anti depressants - I'm only 43.
I didn't want random advice from people on the Internet, but rather hoping that someone here has been through /seen something similar and found something that worked. Other than anorexia.7 -
