Can you do HIIT workouts two days in a row? We mind my nephew on Monday and Wednesday's along with our 4 month old so it's quite hectic. So would it be okay to workout Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday instead and do HIIT workouts those 3 days plus a strength training workout targeting different areas (Tuesday abs, Wednesday bum, Friday arms)

If you are doing true HIIT, 15-20 minutes all out, it wouldn't be recommended due to CNS impact. I'm guessing you're not because you would be exhausted doing HIIT 3 times per week plus strength training who
Which can also have some CNS impact.

What does your HIIT program consist of?

Not familiar with those but took a quick look. They are probably ok to do on that schedule. They are not HIIT like all out sprints. More calisthenics intervals from what I could see.

Only way to know for sure is try and see how it goes. Adjust from there.

Thank you for the reply. Yeah I'll see how it goes. This might sound like a stupid question but I was using the HIIT workouts by thebodycoach as cardio. Are these cardio workouts? Would these help with losing body fat, especially round the tummy. I'm a beginner so have no idea what to do haha

Those are what I would describe as metabolic body weight workouts. So, they accomplish multiple objectives. They have some cardio benefit, they do some body weight training and some mobility work. At least the one that I looked at did.

Losing body fat is primarily a function of calorie deficit. These routines support that in that they are good calorie burners. As far as where you will lose body fat, that is primarily genetic and It will usually come off in reverse order of how it went on. Sadly, the abdomen is usually the last to go. :-(

The question I would have is whether they are redundant with your weight training and maybe a form of pure cardio like running or elliptical wouldn't be better on non weight training days. But if they don't interfere with weight training and are convenient and easy to do, whatever works for you.

Thank you for the reply. I bring my LO out for a fast walk in the buggy everyday and would like to maybe try running but then dont know if that would be okay with the buggy. My main objective is to lose body fat/Weight. Then focus on toning

Depending on how far you walk, the walking is good for burning calories. A lot of my cardio on my non-weight training days is walking for an hour or so.

It sounds like you are doing this, but I would focus on both fat loss and muscle tone at the same time. Your primary tool for fat loss is eating less that you burn. There is an old saying that says, "you can't out exercise a poor diet." So that is the key. Weight or body weight training will burn a few calories but mostly give you better muscle development. So when you lose some fat, you will like the shape of your body.

I'm not familiar with the blogilates program. Sounds like you are on the right track with the diet and walking. Here are some details on good strength training programs:

I don't know if you have access to a gym or not. A great program for women is Bret Contreras' Strong Curves. If you are doing things at home without weights, fitness blender has some great body weight programs.
